1022. Rare Early Onondaga Shops (Handcraft/L&JG Stickley) slat-sided Morris Chair No. 798 in quartersawn oak with excellent original finish and super plush down-filled leather cushions. This chair is the earliest version of this form and is unsigned as is almost every pieces from the Onondaga Shops period. Note the beautiful curves on the back of the arms versus the straight cut angles seen on the later and much more common version (No. 498). The original drop-in rope frame is present and included. There is also a very nice custom made leather wrapped drop-in board included for added support. I can not stress enough just how comfortable this chair really is!
